- This is a synopsis as required by FAR Part 5.201. This is not a Request For Proposals. Vendors should not submit formal offers until the Request For Proposal (RFP) is posted to this website. The Government anticipates issuing a RFP Notice for a Fi rm-Fixed Price Contract for the proper removal and disposal of dunnage and other wood items at Military Ocean Terminal, Sunny Point (MOTSU), Southport, NC 28461-7500. This procurement will be issued as a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The contract perfor mance period will for at least a one (1)year base period with two (2) one-year options. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this project is: 562998. Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) intends to i ssue the RFP on or about 29 February 2008 and it will be available on the website: www.fedbizopps.gov. A Site Visit is scheduled for 25 February 2008 at 9:00 A.M. EST. Request all interested sources attend Site Visit in order to develop a fair and compe titive offer to the Government. Offerors must also be registered in the Contractors Central Registration (CCR) in order to participate in this procurement; applicable website: www.ccr.gov. The Government seeks to contract for the disposal and removal of dunnage material located at the Reclaim Yard, Military Ocean Terminal, Sunny Point in an environmentally sound method. Reuse, Recycling or Energy Recovery is preferred as stated in the Government's Pollution Prevention Plan. The wood dunnage is generated during operation on the terminal from blocking and bracing of cargo. This wood is untreated and comes in various board sizes. The Contractor shall furnish all necessary Labor, Equipment and Materials to accomplish the work. Dunnage amount varies from m onth to month depending on ship operations. The Government will be responsible for separating and sorting all materials before disposal.
