- The proposed contract is 100% set aside for small business concerns. The Army Contracting Agency, Directorate of Contracting, Fort Hood, TX, intents to award a sole source firm fixed-price purchase order to Babcock, Bob, 1588 Asheforde Dr, Marietta, GA, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements, 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 711510 wi th a small business size 6M. The anticipated award date: 1 March 2008. Customer estimates a twelve months time period to finalize the project from the date of order receipt. 4th Infantry Division, has a requirement for a professional historical writer to produce a sequel of a history book of the Task Force Iron horse during Operation Iraqi Freedom 07-09 that includes one (1) original final manuscript and four (4) copies no later than 30 days after the Formal Welcome Home ceremony of 4ID at Fort Hood. 4th Infantry Division has an ongoing requirement to maintain the unit history and as such the contractor shall have an excellent knowledge of the history of the 4ID mission and accomplishment during OIF 03-05, in order to link together the mission and accompl ishments of the 4ID during OIF 07-09. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Any interested small business firm can provide a copy of their capabilities statement to the Contracting Specialist within the timeframe stated below. Supp orting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the firm's ability to provide the stated services within the established timeframe.Information can be sent to the Contract Specialist via e-mail at: madge.lewis@us.army.mil. Responses re ceived from other responsible businesses prior to 12:00pm Central Standard Time on 19 February 2008 will be considered for future procurements. No telephone responses will be accepted.
