The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is pursing a contractor for the design, installation and integration of very high frequency (VHF) repeaters at selected sites in the Phoenix/Mesa, Arizona region. The new VHF system shall integrate with the existing Phoenix/Mesa Motorola ASTRO P25 trunked 800 MHz radio system. The proposed system shall use the existing Phoenix/Mesa zone and system-level controllers, servers, network equipment, and system databases. The VHF portion of the system shall provide wide-area coverage for approximately 1,000 federal agency users in the Phoenix/Mesa region. The contractor shall provide all infrastructure equipment and services in support of the Phoenix/Mesa Shared Infrastructure Demonstration Project.
