- Description
- The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) requires computer test administrator(s) capable of administering computer-based registration examinations for patent attorneys and agents. The computer-based examination system will accommodate current and future multiple choice examinations designed by the USPTO and/or current and future patent registration examinations. To measure legal qualifications of registration candidates, the USPTO?s Office of Enrollment and Discipline (?OED?), which is responsible for registering patent attorneys and agents to practice in patent cases before the USPTO tests applicants for registration to ascertain if they have the necessary knowledge of patent law, practice and procedure to provide valuable assistance to patent applicants. The number of computer-based registration examinations administered to applicants has increased steadily over the past three years. Approximately three thousand two hundred (3,200) examinations were administered in calendar year 2007; approximately three thousand (3,000) registration examinations were administered in calendar year 2006; and approximately two thousand seven hundred fifty (2,750) examinations were administered in calendar year 2005.
