Description
The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue cost plus award fee contract modifications to General Dynamics Bath Iron Works (GD-BIW), 700 Washington Street, Bath, ME 04530, and Lockheed Martin Corporation Maritime Systems & Sensors (LM MS2), 199 Borton Landing Road, Moorestown, NJ 08057, for the planning and execution of an Industrial Post Delivery Availability (IPDA) for the lead ship of each Littoral Combat Ship Flight 0 Class Ship design. The scope will include planning, engineering and material procurement for the IPDA beginning approximately eight (8) months prior to the start of the IPDA followed by the correction of deficiencies identified during tests and trials as well as the completion of approved mission critical Engineering Change Proposals (ECP?s) for an approximate two (2) month period following ship delivery. GD-BIW and LM MS2 are the only sources with the requisite knowledge of LCS Flight 0 design, construction, systems, and extensive knowledge of, and experience with, mission module interface requirements to efficiently and effectively execute the availability. The GD-BIW IPDA and the LM MS2 IPDA will be awarded under previously awarded contracts N00024-03-C-2310 and N00024-03-C-2311 respectively. The contracts will be awarded pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only one or a limited number of responsible sources and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
