Description
SOURCES SOUGHT This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. US Army RDECOM Acquisition Center/Edgewood Division is seeking qualified sources that can provide Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive Detection Equipment (CBRNE) for use in a mobile laboratory vehicle, developed by the US Army for CONUS and OCONUS operation. This CBRNE must detect low level biological warfare agents, chemical warfar e agents, toxic industrial chemicals, toxic industrial materials, radiological material, nuclear material, and high explosive residue. The following technologies are identified as possible choices to accomplish this mission. Technologies are: Capillary E lectrophoresis (CE), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Gas Chromatography / Mass Spectroscopy (GC/MS), Liquid Chromatography/ Mass Spectroscopy (LC/MS), RAMAN Spectrometry, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM/EDS), X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), X- ray Diffraction (XRD) for chemical compounds. For biological compounds the Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) have been identified as potential detectors. Instruments that will detect and measure alpha, x-ray, be ta, and gamma radiation are necessary for the RAD/Nuclear capability. Equipment must be capable of operating in a mobile environment for sustained periods of at least 72 hours without outside technical support for repair or operations. Consumable materia ls such as reagents or gasses must be fully identified, as well as ancillary equipment even if manufactured by another vendor. Only those companies that can presently provide CBRNE instruments should submit information. No other specifications or inform ation other than provided above is available. Respondents are requested to submit a Capability Statement that clearly addresses corporate capabilities. The Capability Statement shall include at a minimum: informational brochures, published tech nical specifications, third party performance verification, company name, address, telephone number, facsimile number, type of business (large or small), and point of contact. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of their C apability Statement. Upon review of the Capability Statements, the Government may request a meeting with the interested companies and a tour of their facility. Capability Statement should be submitted by 14 February 2008 to Cheryl A. McLaughlin,<B R>Contracting Officer, US Army RDECOM Acquisition Center, ATTN: AMSRD-ACC-E/BLDG E-4455, E-5179 Hoadley Road, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21010-5401, e-mail: cheryl.mclaughlin@us.army.mil.
