Description

THIS IS A 100% EMERGING SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE ACQUISITION. The contractor shall provide all plant, labor, tools, parts equipment, transportation and incidentals to repair an existing metal roof on the Des Lacs NWR Cold Storage Building. The project is located at the Des Lacs NWR, located in Kenmare, North Dakota. Work included (numbers are estimates only): 1. Labor and materials to install roof protectant coatings to seal metal, and prevent leaking and rusting. Shop roof is approximately 25 feet X 96 feet per side, with both sides requiring repair (approximately 4,800 square feet total). 2. Work involves replacing all sheet metal screws holding roof in place. Clean existing galvanized metal roof. Spray on rust preventative. Tape all metal joints and cover all screws with appropriate caulking material. 3. Apply 2 coats of roof coating. The final coat will be white in color. Contractor is responsible for 1. determining exact measurements of the roof structure. 2. the purchase and delivery of all required materials. 3. a thorough cleanup of the job site to include the use of a magnetic device to ensure that all nails and screws are picked up. 4. the removal and legal disposal of all removed roofing materials. All work will be performed in compliance with the attached Statement of Work. The period of performance is 30 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. It is anticipated that the Notice to Proceed will be issued on or about June 1, 2008. LOCATION AND INSPECTION OF SITE Prospective bidders may inspect the sites by contacting the Project Leader at Des Lacs NWR, located in Kenmare, North Dakota. The estimated magnitude of construction is under $25,000.00. The total performance is 30 days from the Notice to Proceed. This acquisition is open to emerging small business concerns. The NAICS code 238160, Roofing Contractors, and small business size standard is $13 Million. The solicitation package is anticipated to available electronically on/or about January 29, 2008 with an anticipated closing date of February 21, 2008. Copies of the Request for Proposal, specifications and drawings can be obtained at http://www.fedbizopps.gov once available for issuance.
