- Description
- This is a SOLE-SOURCE Notice of Contract Action and NOT A SOLICITATION. The United States Air Force (USAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Installation Support Branch, Boling AFB DC, intends to award a sole source Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) contract to Institute for the Future. Institute for the Future shall provide X2: Threats, Opportunities, and Advances in Science and Technology Support required by Office of the Director, Defense Research and Engineering, Washington, D.C. The program objective is to provide a single, reliable and timely source for emerging and disruptive technologies to a wide customer set. In order to do this, it will be important to collect a wide dataset from scientists and engineers of all ages, all pedigrees, and from all over the world. Getting a truly ?global? view of technology development trends is the goal of the project; removing ?Western? cultural tendencies ? and DoD views of technology ? from both the collection and initial analysis efforts is required for this project to succeed. Under the authority of USC 2304(c)(1) pursuant to FAR 6.302.1(2)(b)(1)(i), the services needed by the agency are available from only one responsible source or only from a limited number of responsible sources and no other type of property or services will satisfy the needs of the agency. A determination not to compete this proposed contract is based on market research and is solely within the discretion of the Government. This announcement is not a request for competitive quotations.
