- Pope AFB intends to solicit and award a purchase to a large business, American Lung Association of Iowa, for Tobacco Cessation Quit Line Service. This company offers a nation wide plan that would cover active duty military on Pope AFB. The Quit line service provides smoking cessation counseling over the phone and assists in answering questions, revising plans, provides tips,offers support and encouragement in the smoking cessation process. The Statutory authority for this sole source purchase is Title 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1) as implemented in the FAR 6.302-1. The applicable NACIS Code is 813212 with a size standard of $6.5 Million. Any interested parties, other than American Lung Association of Iowa, that feels they can satisfy this requirement must identify their interest, experience, and capabilities to satisfy the requirement no later than 1 February 08 at 16:00 PM EST. All interested parties, must be registered in Central Contracting Registration (CCR) database. This notice is for informational purposes only; no formal solicitation will be issued as a result of this announcement.
