Description
The FAA has a requirement for the acquisition of 15 High Voltage Switch Assemblies, NSN 5930-01-554-8034, ABB Switzerland LTD. High Current Systems PTH (ABB) part number 125K497HD01 and 15 Optical Trigger Box Assemblies, NSN 5998-01-554-8260, ABB part number 125K497H02. These assemblies are used in the Modulator Pulse Assembly in order to support the ASR-9 Radar System. The type of contract contemplated under this requirement is Firm-Fixed-Price. The High Voltage Switch Assemblies and Optical Trigger Box Assemblies are only known to be available from ABB Switzerland LTD. High Current Systems PTH, Born Boveri Strasse 5, Zurich, CH-8050, Switzerland. The Modulator Pulse Assembly was designed by Northrop Grumman. These assemblies were custom designed by ABB for use in the Modulator Pulse Assembly for the ASR-9 radar system. These assemblies are identified in the source control drawing developed by Northrop Grumman with ABB as the approved source for these assemblies. The FAA does not have specifications or drawings to allow other sources to manufacture these assemblies. The contractor must have access to Northrop Grumman's, original equipment manufacturer, (OEM) specifications and drawings. Potential sources must provide documentation to the FAA showing proof for rights to use the data from the OEM. Statements that data will be obtained or that specifications or drawings will be developed are not acceptable. Only those responses providing the required documentation in response to this market survey will be considered prior to further action by the FAA. Interested parties who can comply with and meet all of the requirements called out in this market survey should respond with their documentation in writing to the Contracting Officer. The FAA will not pay for any information received or costs incurred in preparing responses to this market survey. Any proprietary information should be so marked. This announcement shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the FAA to acquire these assemblies. Responders to this announcement may be asked to provide additional details/information based on their initial submittal. The final determination by the FAA not to open this requirement to competition, based on any information provided, is solely within the discretion of the FAA. All interested sources must provide their responses/submittals no later than 2:00 PM, CST, February 15. 2008. Information packages received after this date will be determined late and will not be considered. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
