Description
The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) is an independent establishment of the United States Government. (Hereinafter referred to as ?Government,? ?USHMM,? and ?Museum.?) The USHMM is America's national institution for the documentation, study, and interpretation of Holocaust history, and serves as this country's memorial to the millions of people murdered during the Holocaust. The Museum's primary mission is to advance and disseminate knowledge about this unprecedented tragedy; to preserve the memory of those who suffered; and to encourage its visitors to reflect upon the moral and spiritual questions raised by the events of the Holocaust as well as their own responsibilities as citizens of a democracy. Paramount to the successful operation of the USHMM is its capability to provide for the security and safety of its staff, visitors, property, and collections. The USHMM Division of Protection Services (DPS) has a need for a technically proficient and professionally responsive Contractor for security officer force protection services. The USHMM requires professionally qualified, physically fit, highly skilled and well trained armed security officers to provide access control, monitor activities, provide VIP/Executive protection, detect and deter safety/security hazards and any unauthorized, illegal, or potentially life-threatening activities, respond to and establish safety controls during crisis incidents, augment Control Center operations, and assist visitors to the Museum. The Contractor will be expected to provide support for all USHMM activities and facilities, assist staff and visitors, assist DPS in creating and maintaining a safe and secure environment, and present themselves in a manner appropriate for a museum environment and memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. Please email your request for the complete solicitation package to tdubose@ushmm.org. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (25-JAN-2008); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
