Description

The U.S. Geological Survey, WSC, Woods Hole, Massachusetts has a requirement for a professional scientist to assemble and analyze seismic recordings from earthquake swarms along the North American fault plate. The Government intends to make award on a sole source basis to University of Texas, Institute of Geophysics for this requirement in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(b)(2). This award will include two one-year options. The University of Texas, Institute of Geophysics is uniquely qualified to provide the service required. The University of Texas, Institute has industry professionals that possess the unique and essential technical and scientific qualifications required to complete this requirement. There is no written solicitation for this requirement. This award will be made on or about February 1, 2008 under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold for Commercial Items. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 541710. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. No additional synopsis will be published.
