Description
Subject: Pre-Solicitation Conference for construction civil works projects in the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet area, expected to include, but not limited to, supply of rock and/or transportation of rock, rock placement, foreshore dike construction, stone armoring, etc. THIS A PRE-SOLICITATION CONFERENCE NOTICE. The tracking number for this announcement is W912P8-08-SN-0001. The NAICS code for this proposed acquisition is 237990. Federal Supply Code is Y299. Business size standard is $31 m illion. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - New Orleans District will hold a pre-solicitation conference on February 15, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in the District Assembly Room - DARM A, 7400 Leake Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana. The purpose of this conference is to obtain industry feedback on the availability of rock and transportation of the rock to the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet (MRGO). This conference will be to discuss available resources in the event that the MRGO, or a portion thereof, is deauthorized a s a navigational channel and, additionally, a rock closure structure is authorized. The Corps would like to get industry feedback and to conduct market research in the event that the closure is approved. During the conference the Corps would like feedbac k on what kind of rock is available, limits on stone gradations, production rates, the lead time of shipping, and to discuss any obstacles that might be encountered. An early summer construction start date is anticipated and it is imperative to determine if adequate material and transportation assets are available to meet this date.
