- The Detroit District Corps of Engineers is having an open meeting with the Great Lakes contractors in Detroit, Michigan on Friday, February 1, 2008 to discuss the upcoming FY 08 Great Lakes contracts. The Fiscal Year (FY) 2008 Appropriations Bill in cludes a very robust workload for the Great Lakes Navigation program. At this meeting the Corps of Engineers Detroit District will lay out the anticipated FY08 maintenance dredging and structural repair contracts expected from the Buffalo, Chicago, and De troit Districts this season. The purpose of the meeting is to present a list of anticipated maintenance dredging and structural repair projects, expected procurement methods, and projected schedules. Due to the significant increase in the number of contr acts expected this year we are giving the contractor community an early notification of our expected contracts so you can prepare accordingly. Representatives from Buffalo, Chicago, and Detroit Districts will be available in person at this meeting to answ er any specific questions that you many have. The meeting will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday February 1, 2008 at the Detroit District office in the McNamara Federal Building, 477 Michigan Avenue, Detroit, Michigan. The meeting will take place o n the 6th Floor in the Lake Superior Conference Room. We will also have call-in capability for this meeting for those who are unable to travel to Detroit.
