Description
This Sources Sought announcement seeks to identify potential contractors to provide training to approximately 10 soldiers in the installation and removal of the SLAT Armor along with driving training with the SLAT Armor installed on the FOX Nuclear B iological Chemical Reconnaissance System (NBCRS). The FOX NBCRS is a system of nuclear and chemical detection, sampling and warning equipment integrated into a high speed, high mobility, six shell armored vehicle. The SLAT Armor training will consist of five training sessions (3-4 days long) per year to be conducted either entirely at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO or at various CONUS locations. A FOX vehicle and SLAT Armor will be on location for each training session. The schedule per training session is as fol lows: Day 1 (a.m.) - Classroom discussion/briefing (briefing packet presentations already exist but may need slight modification). Day 1 (p.m.) - Layout SLAT and perform brief inventory of equipment/fasteners and begin installation of SLAT onto the train ing vehicle. Day 2 - Complete the installation in the morning and begin driver's training. Depending on class size, either complete Driver's training on a driving course or continue on Day 3. Day 3 - Uninstall the SLAT armor and package it for transpor t to the next destination. Requires forklift support and Government Bill of Lading through DCMA. At the conclusion of training, conduct an after action review (AAR) of the training event and provide AAR to Government. The proposed acquisition may result in a combination Firm Fixed Price and Cost Reimbursable contract for a 5 year Indefinite Delivery and Indefinite Quantity with a minimum guaranteed period of performance of 1 year. Responses to this notice should include the following: a rough order of magnitude estimate for one year of training, company name, point of contact, address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address, brief description of company/capabilities, experience areas, history, duns number, cage code, as well as business size categor y (large/small disadvantaged, etc). Also provide any supporting information such as commercial literature, catalogues, manuals, etc. No solicitation will be issued at this time. Participation in this effort is strictly voluntary with no cost or obligat ion to be incurred by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government will in no way be obligated to acquire the training requirement designated above and is providing this information as general information only. This announcement is for information and planni ng purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposals.
