Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT The Bay Pines Veterans Administration Medical Center, Bay Pines, FL 33744 intends to negotiate with EMC Corporation on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. The requirement is to provide (1) Annual maintenance contract on EMC software to be serviced on the VA Healthcare system 10000 Bay Pines Blvd Bay Pines Fl 33744. which is part of the Information Resource MGMT SVC. Clin: 0001: Qty 1, U/I: YR CX700 FC Array W 8GB MEM. Clin 0002: Qty 1, U/I YR, CX-2G10-73 FC73GB 10K 520B 2GB (20 EA). Clin 00003: Qty 1, U/I YR, CX-2XG10-146 FC 146GB 10K 520B 2GB (149 EA) Clin 0004: Qty 1, U/I YR, CX2G10-300 300GB FCL 10K 2GB (63 EA). Clin:0005: Qty 1, U/I YR, CX-2GDAE-70 CX700 DAE EXP w flare OS (1 ea) Clin:0006: Qty 1 U/I YR, CX-2GAE DAE FC 2GB expans for CX (14 ea). Clin:0007 Qty 1 U/I YR, RACK-40U 40U common Rack (1 EA). Clin: 0008 Qty:1 U/I YR, PW40U-C-US 40U-C PWR Cord - US (1 ea). Those who wish to identify their interest and capability to provide an alternate 1 year maintenance software which will meet the capabilities and functionality described above may notify the Contracting Officer in writing, fax, or e mail, no later than 1:00 PM EST on 28 January 2008 . Such notification must include a complete description of proposed equipment, including narrative and specifications, and must demonstrate that it meets or exceeds the capabilities described above. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations. Responses received will be evaluated, however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Bay Pines VA Medical Center will proceed with the sole source negotiation with EMC Corporation. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. This purchase will be under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized under FAR 6.302-1. The anticipated award date is 31 January 2008
