- Description
- HSCG87-08-B-643013 Generator Overhauls at U.S. Coast Guard LORAN Station Attu, Alaska. Perform complete factory recommended 22,000 hour Top End (Second Interval) Overhaul, service, inspection, and rebuild procedures on two Coast Guard owned Caterpillar Model 3512 Generator Engines at LORAN Station Attu, Alaska. The estimated start work date is on or about April 2008, with all work to be completed by July 1, 2008. The project involves the furnishing of all labor, materials, supervision, equipment, common and special tools, travel and incidentals necessary to perform the overhaul work. All procedures to be as outlined in accordance with the most recent Caterpillar Publications. All parts shall be genuine Caterpillar parts meeting all manufacturer original equipment specifications. All work shall be performed by a Caterpillar Qualified mechanic and must provide a copy of the mechanics Caterpillar Qualifications Certificate. After completion of the overhaul, a test run of the engine generator under full load shall be required to verify factory-operating specifications. The project site is located at U.S. Coast Guard LORAN Station Attu, Alaska located on the island of Attu at the western end of the Aleutian Islands. There is no overland access to this location. Access is by aircraft only. Material and personnel transportation to Loran Station Attu will be by Coast Guard aircraft from U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak, Alaska. At contractor discretion, commercial charter flights are available and are permitted, however they are very expensive. Contract award is anticipated late March 2008. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS)Code is 811310 and the applicable size standard is $6.0 million dollars in annual receipts for the past three years. This solicitation will not be issued in paper form. Any amendments issued to the solicitation will be posted on this website. Prospective bidders are responsible for checking the website for amendments up to the date and time of bid opening. Firms must be currently registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database and FEDTeDS database to be able to access the technical data package. This is not a Small Business Set Aside, however, all responsible businesses may submit a bid. Telephone requests will not be accepted. A planholders list will not be available for this project from CEU-Juneau.
