Description
Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Y-12, LLC, hereinafter known as B&W Y-12, (the Company) acting under its Prime CXontract No. DE-A05-00OR22800 with the United States Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA), is hereby soliciting Expressions of Interest and Requests for Qualifications (EOI/RFQ) for execution of the Microwave Furnace System Project activities, for the Company at the Y-12 National Security Complex (Y-12) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. ***** It is the intent of B&W Y-12 to subcontract with Small Businesses to perform this work. The EOI/RFQ is issued to identify prospective and qualified subcontractors. If a sufficient number of small businesses prequalify to ensure adequate competition, Phase II, Request for Proposal, will be set aside for small business. Large businesses will be encouraged to team with small firms in an effort to become prequalified. Large businesses are not discouraged from responding to this EOI/RFQ; however, any large business that is not teaming with a small business is at risk of being excluded from the procurement if it is set aside for small business. ***** Participation in the prequalification stage is mandatory in order to be eligible to participate in Phase II, Request for Proposal (RFP). Any business participating in the prequalification phase must be evaluated as being qualified by the Company to be eligible for the RFP phase. Any large business submitting information for prequalification shall include a plan that defines a business strategy to maximize teaming participation with Small, Small Disadvantaged, Women Owned, Veteran, and Service Disabled Veteran Owned small businesses. ***** For entire request and instructions go to: http://www1.y12.doe.gov/business/procurement/solicitations/EOIMicrowaveFurnace/
