- The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to enter into a sole source contract with KUMC Research Institute Inc. C/O NDNQI, 3901 Rainbow Blvd., Kansas City, KS 66160 for a membership in the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators for the period of January, 2008 through December 31, 2008 and four option years. This membership entitles VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System to support and assistance with the Magnet Status requirement by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. NDNQI provides assurance of anonymity and confidentiality of the participant institution, staff and patients, assurance of standards for data management in order to ensure data integrity and security. NDNQI assures receipt of quarterly reports of data for participant including information on trends and comparisons to comparable institutions participating in the Database project, assurance that presentations and publications of the Database aggregated data will not identify findings with specific institutions either directly or through inference. This also gives the VA Pittsburgh the opportunity to provide feedback to the NDNQI to guide future project development. This announcement is for services for which the Government intends to negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1 (a) (2). Interested parties are requested to submit clear and convincing data substantiating their capabilities and qualifications to provide comparable membership services that offer best practices, no later than January 22, 2008 COB. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interest received on or before January 22, 2008 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
