- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Academy, Technical Operations Training Division, AMA-405, intend to award a single source acquisition to Sun Microsystems to acquire Sun Fire 280R and Sun Fire V1280 Administration and Maintenance courses. The Sun Fire 280R and Sun Fire V1280 Administration and Maintenance courses are required for FAA Technicians having maintenance responsibility for the Sun Enterprise 1280 Server. Sun Microsystems designed and developed the courses and have proprietary rights to the courseware as developed. Purpose of Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. This announcement is for informational purposes only, not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. All responses to this announcement must be directed to Terry J.
