- Repair of the 280-foot root section of the breakwater at Port Allen Harbor, Island of Kauai, Hawaii. The repair of the ocean side of the breakwater root consists of construction of an armor layer over the existing stone slope using 8-ton minimum sto ne at the transition to the main breakwater and minimum 6-ton stone for the new armor layer. Harborside repair consists of replacing and resetting stones as necessary to maintain the stacked rock face and construction of a graded riprap revetment. The rip rap will consist of a 2-foot thick graded stone layer, median stone size 200 pounds, placed over geotextile filter fabric and compacted fill. This is an UNRESTRICTED procurement utilizing Electronic Bid Sets (EBS). The estimated cost of the project is be tween $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Traditional hard copies of plans and specifications will NOT be available for this solicitation. Solicitation plans and specifications will be made available for viewing and/or downloading on the Federal Technical Data So lutions (FedTeDS) website via access through the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website located at http://www.fbo.gov/ on or about January 25, 2008. Offerors must be registered in FedTeDS to view/download plans and specifications. Solicitat ion documents will not be issued on compact disc (CD) unless the Government determines that it is necessary. Offerors must have and/or maintain an active registration with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) website to be eligible for a Government c ontract award. To register in CCR, go to http://www.ccr.gov. It is the offerors responsibility to check for any posted changes to the solicitation.
