Description
This is a sources sought synopsis only. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources. The Government is seeking potential sources for the following service: The Contractor shall furnish air transportation services from Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska to various locations throughout Alaska, including 3,500 foot gravel airfields. A sampling of the locations (not all inclusive)serviced are Cape Lisburne, Cape Romanzoff, Eielson AFB, Galena, Ketchikan, King Salmon, Oliktok, Point Barrow, Sparrevohn, Tin City, and Indian Mountain. Flights will also be scheduled to Eareckson AFS, Shemya Island, and Adak Island if aircraft is capable of servicing these locations. Aircraft must be IFR-equipped, multi-engine aircraft. Missions may be flown to multiple locations. Aircraft utilized must be able to accommodate cargo up to 78 inches high and have a minimum ACL of 25,000 lbs for most destinations. Air carriers must possess an FAA operator certificate for FAR part 121 or 135, depending on the type aircraft offered. The successful offeror must obtain approval of the DOD Commercial Airlift Review Board. Potential set-asides will be determined after responses to this notice are received. This notice is for market research only. All interested offerors should submit information to John Beasley by mail to USTRANSCOM/TCAQ-R, 508 Scott Drive, Scott AFB, IL 62225-5357, by fax (618-256-6419), or email to john.beasley@ustranscom.mil by 22 January, 2008. This agency has not made a final commitment to procure the stated requirement and this notice should not be construed as a commitment or authorization to incur costs in anticipation of such procurement. This agency is interested in obtaining responses to this notice from prospective contractors, but no contractor shall be reimbursed for providing this information; therefore, the Department of Defense (DOD) will accept the requested information in whatever format it is provided. All information provided by the contractor will become property of the DOD and will not be returned.
