- Description
- The Social Security Administration requires the services of medical doctors to provide medical consultant services in the specialties of Internal Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Orthopedics. These consultant services will include providing oral and/or written consultations resulting from reviews of SSA disability case files, consulting with SSA medical policy staff, and/or training other medical consultant contractors. No patient contact is involved. Basic computer proficiency is required to complete forms, read and answer email messages and type narrative consultations. Consulting services will be performed at the Harold Washington Social Security Center (HWSSC), 600 W. Madison St., Chicago, IL 60661. Some travel may be involved. This acquisition is for commercial services prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. All contractors will be required to pass a security background check which will include completion of fingerprint cards before beginning performance under the contract. Offerors must possess a valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine. All offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of any contract. Offerors must have a DUNS number and Tax Identification Number or Social Security Number to register in the CCR. The period of performance will be from February 1, 2008 (or date of award, if later) through December 31, 2008. This requirement is a 100% small business set aside. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 621111. The size standard is $9.0 million. Offers received from other than small business concerns will not be accepted. Solicitation SSA-RFQ-05-08-0002 is available for downloading on the FedBizOpps website (http://www.fbo.gov). No telephone requests for the solicitation package will be honored. No hardcopies of the solicitation package will be available.
