- The purpose of this requirement is to establish a performance based repair contract for F-16 Canopy Repair. The intended contract will incorporate a two year basic period with three one year options. This contract is restricted to Lockheed Pinellas. Performance of this requirement requires that the contractor be Lockheed certified (possess a Lockheed Martin license) and have in its possession the necessary tooling to perform this repair. There are two sets of tooling in existence to build and repair F-16 canopies, of which one is owned by Lockheed Pinellas and the other is owned by the government. The government owned tooling is not currently in serviceable condition. The government intends to hold an industry day during 2008 to invite interested companies the opportunity to evaluate the tooling for refurbishment. If there is interest in refurbishment, the government will consider a new contract effort in lieu of exercising a contract option under this present effort.
