- The Department of Energy, Savannah River Operations (SRS) Office will hold a Vendor Forum to discuss the Spent Nuclear Fuel (SNF) Transfer between SRS and Idaho National Laboratory (INL). This forum will be held on January 9, 2008 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Eastern Standard time at the Center for Advanced Technology (Building 600), room 633, located at the Augusta Technical College campus, Augusta, Georgia. DOE is looking for vendors that can provide either through purchase or rental Type B shipping containers, referred to as shipping cask to transport spent nuclear fuel between Savannah River Site and the Idaho National Laboratory. The purpose of the Vendor Forum is to share the concept of the transportation mission (proposed to begin in 2009 and conclude in 2019) with industry experts and to gain insight on developing an appropriate Request for Proposal for service contractors to conduct the transportation mission. Topics for discussion will include nuclear engineering, packaging, trucking, transportation management, and quality assurance. This Notice for a Vendor Forum is NOT a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or a request for offers. No solicitation package is available at this time.
