- THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICIATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEM FOR TREE THINNING AND STAND IMPROVEMENT ON THE SAWTOOTH NATIONAL FOREST. SOLICITATION PACKAGE WILL BE POSTED SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH THE SNYOPSIS. The Forest Service is in need of pre-commercial tree thinning and stand improvement activities to reduce the tree density and, by the deliberate selection of leave trees, improve the overall health and condition of the stand based on the prescribed objectives. Three units are on the Cassia Division of the Minidoka Ranger District. Units are approximately 45 miles southwest of Twin Falls, Idaho. Units are located in T14S, R18E, Sections 27 & 34; Boise Meridian. Nine units are on the Fairfield Ranger District. Units are approximately 13 miles northeast if Fairfield, Idaho. Units are in T2N, R14E, Sections 11, 12, 13, 14, 23 and 26; Boise Meridian. NAICS Code: 115310. Size Standard: $6.5 million. Estimated start date: 8/20/07 with 60 calendar days for completion.
