- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command has a requirement for the accomplishment of evaluations addressing the capability of a CG(X) design leveraging DDG 1000 Class technologies. These evaluations, which will include the submission of studies performed independently, will be accomplished by performing analysis on ship design attributes and conducting naval architecture analysis relating to the current DDG 1000 Class design. The requirement under this solicitation will be issued to one of the two sources qualified to provide an evaluation, Bath Iron Works, 700 Washington Street, Bath, ME 04530-2574. A solicitation is being issued for a separate evaluation to Northrop Grumman Ship Systems, 1000 Access Road, Pascagoula, MS 39568. It is planned that these two evaluations will be separately procured, without full and open competition, from the only two qualified DDG 1000 shipbuilders who have the requisite knowledge of the DDG 1000 design to adequately perform the required evalu ations. It is anticipated that both efforts will be performed over a six month period. Please see note 22.
