MATERIAL TIME Body Bags Within one (1) day after date of order Sheet and Blanket Within one (1) day after date of order U.S. Flag Within one (1) day after date of order Uniform Articles Within one (1) day after date of order (e) A refrigeration unit is required at the contractor?s facility to preserve and hold remains for a minimum period of 30 days. (f) The contractor shall have adequate storage space for holding remains as required by NAVMEDCOMINST 5360.1. The storage space must conform to all other Federal and State laws and regulations. This storage space shall be in addition to space dedicated to the contractor?s preparation room. (g) The contractor shall have adequate storage space to deposit casket and air tray inventory. This storage space must conform to all other Federal and State laws and regulations. This storage space shall be in addition to the space dedicated to the contractor?s commercial showroom. (h) The contractor shall have an establishment within a 25 mile radius of the Naval Hospital, Camp Lejeune and Naval Health Clinic, Cherry Point, North Carolina. C.2 (a) Performance of the required services under this contract shall be accomplished in accordance with the PWS and NAVMEDCOMINST 5360.1 (see Paragraph C.1 for NAVMEDCOMINST 5360.1 website address). (b) In the event that any provision or provisions of NAVMEDCOMINST 5360.1 are changed, revised, altered, superseded, deleted, suspended, or revoked during the term of this contract (including options, if any) the Contracting Officer, in his or her sole discretion, may enforce this contract according to the terms of NAVMEDCOMINST 5360.1 existing at the time of contract award. In the alternative, the Contracting Officer, in his or her sole discretion, may enforce this contract without any reference to NAVMEDCOMINST 5360.1 in the event it is deleted, suspended, or revoked. None of the actions by the Contracting Officer described in this paragraph will entitle the contractor to an equitable adjustment for any actions taken or costs incurred relating to NAVMEDCOMINST 5360.1 being changed, revised, altered, superseded, deleted, suspended, or revoked. (c) The contractor shall possess all licenses and certifications required by Federal, State, and local laws prior to performance of this contract. C. 3 REQUIRED STANDARD OF WORKMANSHIP Unless otherwise specifically provided in this contract, the quality of all services rendered hereunder shall conform to the highest standards in the relevant profession, trade or field of endeavor. All services shall be rendered by or supervised directly by individuals fully qualified in the relevant profession, trade or field, and holding any licenses required by law. C.4 REMAINS/CREMAINS PROCESSING TIME FRAME The established time frame for remains/cremains processing and forwarding to the receiving funeral establishment is 48 hours from the time the remains/cremains are released to the contractor?s facility. C. 5 The Contracting Officer?s Representative (COR) will conduct a Pre-Award inspection of funeral establishments prior to award and in accordance with NAVMEDCOMINST 5360.1, Appendix D ? Checklist for Pre-Award Inspection of Funeral Establishment. C.6 VEHICLES The Contractor shall furnish all vehicles required for transportation of remains specified herein. All vehicles utilized in the transportation of remains shall be funeral coach and conform to the highest industry/commercial standards. All remains once dressed in uniform will be transported by hearse. All vehicle operators shall have a valid State of North Carolina driver?s license, and carry the vehicle registration and current insurance documentation at all times. All vehicles shall be equipped to protect against the release of contaminating substance, material, liquid, gas secretion, excretion, or pathogen that may emanate or escape from the remains. All vehicles shall be subject to examination at all times by the Contracting Officer or the Contracting Officer?s Representative (COR). C. 7 DURATION OF CONTRACT PERIOD This contract shall become effective on date of award and shall continue in effect during the period ending twelve (12) months thereafter, unless sooner terminated in accordance with applicable provisions of this contract. The Contracting Officer may, at his or her discretion, and subject to the applicable provisions of law, exercise one or more option years, not to exceed a total of four one-year options. C.8 PRIOR WRITTEN PERMISSION REQUIRED FOR SUBCONTRACTS None of the services required by this contract shall be subcontracted to or performed by persons other than the contractor or the contractor?s employees without the prior written consent of the Contracting Officer.
