Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma has a requirement for overhaul and repair of Rotary Couplers and Rotary Joints for use in the Mode-S Radar System. NSNs to be repaired/overhauled include; NSN 5985-01-394-3848 - P/N 1707, NSN 5985-01-394-3847 - P/N 1708, NSN 5985-01-394-3849 - P/N 1443, NSN 5985-01-394-3850 - P/N 1818, NSN 5985-01-363-3806 - P/N 41926-1, NSN 5985-01-547-2366 - P/N 1719, NSN 5985-01-547-2366 - P/N 17001, NSN 5985-01-319-8304 - P/N 21089/1, NSN 5985-01-512-6662 - P/N 6940/01 and NSN 5985-01-313-7839 - P/N 1639. These systems are critical to Air Traffic Control in maintaining safety in the National Air Space (NAS). The requirement will be for one base year period with four one-year option periods to be exercised at the sole discretion of the FAA. The overhaul and repair services shall be required to be in accordance with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications, and with the applicable FAA Standards. Kevlin Corporation is the OEM and holds the proprietary rights to the technical documentation, processes, and procedures required to manufacture, overhaul, and repair the parts. The FAA does not have the specifications or drawings, and therefore intends only to issue a Screening Information Request/Request for Offer (SIR/RFO) to Kevlin Corporation, Methuen, MA. Concerns having an interest in this requirement must have data rights to use the OEM's specifications and drawings. Responses and/or questions are to be directed to the Contracting Officer, Connie Houpt, no later than 2:00 p.m. CST, December 28, 2007 at: e-mail: connie.m.houpt@faa.gov. This announcement shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the FAA. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the FAA shall arise as a result of submission of responses to this announcement, and the FAA's use of such information. Responders to this announcement may be requested to provide additional details/information based on their initial submittals.
