- THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICIATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEM FOR WARM SPRINGS THINNING ON THE SAWTOOTH NATIONAL FOREST. SOLICITATION PACKAGE WILL BE POSTED SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH THE SNYOPSIS. The intent of this contract is to secure services for hazardous fuels reduction on the Ketchum Ranger Distict of the Sawtooth National Forest. The project includes cutting of 90-100% of trees ranging from .1 inch-7.9 inch diameter at breast height (dbh), cutting of all dead fuels (both surface and suspended) less than 4inch in diameter, followed by piling and covering slash piles. All materials greater than 4 inches will be cut so they rest on the forest floor. The treatment will be for the purpose hazardous fuels reduction and reducing the potential for high/extreme fire behavior in the treatment area. NAICS Code: 115310. Size Standard: $6.5 million. Estimated start date: 7/31/07 with estimated completion date 11/15/07. The project area is located 1-2 miles west of Ketchum, ID in Blaine County on the Ketchum Ranger District of the Sawtooth National Forest. The area can be accessed by traveling west from Ketchum on Warm Springs Road. The legal location of the project area is T 4 N., R 17 E., Sec. 11, 14 and 15 B.M. See numbered note #1.
