- THIS PROCUREMENT IS BEING ISSUED UNDER THE COMPETITIVE 8(a) PROCEDURES. COMPETITION WILL BE LIMITED TO ONLY THOSE 8(a) CONTRACTORS THAT ARE LOCATED WITHIN THE GEOGRAPHIC AREA SERVICED BY THE SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, MISSISSIPPI DISTRICT OFFICE , WHICH HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED THE NAICS CODE OF 237990 AMONG THOSE APPROVED FOR 8(a) PARTICIPATION ARE ELIGBLE TO BID. The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials and equipment, and constructing Item 474-L, Levee Enlargement and Berms, in Iss aquena County, Mississippi. Principal features of the work include mobilization and demobilization, clearing and grubbing, semicompacted levee embankment, semicompacted berm embankment, removing and replacing existing gravel surfacing, providing new crush ed stone levee surfacing, water control structures, corrugated metal pipe, stone protection, mowing, turfing, erosion control matting, removing and stockpiling existing cattle guards and existing concrete bedding beams, furnishing and installing new cattle guards and new concrete bedding beams, protection of existing relief wells, required blending of earth materials for embankments, storm water pollution prevention and environmental protection. The estimated value of the proposed work is between $1,000,00 0.00 and $5,000,000.00.
