- The Bay Pines VA Health Care System, (90G), Bay Pines Florida, anticipates award of a firm fixed-price service contract for Medical waste and Pharmacutical waste removal at the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, Bay Pines, Florida and all Community Based Outpatient Clinics. Requirement/services include but are not limited to provide labor, materials, equipment, transporation and incidentals as required to pick up and remove biohazardous and pharmaceutical waste from Bay Pines VA Healthcare System and the following clinics: Fort Myers OPC, Port Charlotte CBOC, Naples CBOC, Dunedin CBOC, Sarasota CBOC, Sebring CBOC, and Ellenton CBOC. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 562112, size standard $11.5 million. Responses to this announcement shall determine if sufficient experience and competition exists in the small business community in order to set this procurement aside solely for Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) and/or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) concerns. If there are not sufficient qualified VOSB/SDVOSBs a full and open competition will be held. The anticipated release date of the solicitation package is 7 January 2008. After the qualifications have been reviewed and interviews conducted, negotiations will be conducted and an award decision will be based on a reasonable price determination. There is no RFP/Solicitation package to download. No technical data or plan holder list will be issued. Interested firms shall submit their notice of interest along with qualifications and experience details outlined below. Submit package to Attn: Lindsey Rundorff, Contract Specialist (90G), VA Healthcare System, PO Box 457, Bay Pines, FL 33744 and reference the announcement number and project title listed by 2:00 pm 21 December 2007. Submit brief details outlining: DUNS number; experience in general; Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA); Experience with Medical Facilities; Past performance on contracts with the VA or Federal Government if no VA experience; Location in relation to the Bay Pines VA Health Care System; and Knowledge of local conditions and codes. Once the solicitation is issued, firms will be screened and evaluated by a selection board. The top 2 to 3 firms will be short listed and interviewed. Interested parties shall ensure current State Licensing, shall have current registration within the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) system (www.ccr.gov) and the VETBIZ VIP system (http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov), as well as the VETS 100 program (http://vets100.cudenver.edu/vets100.asp).
