- *****Solicitation No. W912WJ-08-R-0004 has been issued and is available for download beginning today, 6 December 2007.****** With this announcement, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers issues a pre-solicitation notice for the following project: designi ng, furnishing, installing, and testing a new microprocessor based railroad signal system for the vertical lift railroad bridg e in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. The Contractor shall furnish a complete and detailed system design including all hardware, soft ware, firmware, and documentation as well as details of all interconnections necessary. The Contractor shall furnish and instal l all system components, cables and equipment to form a complete, workable, and properly operating system. The Contractor shall perform factory testing of system components, field installation of signal cable, field testing of components and the complete s ignal system, and cutover from the existing signal system to the new signal system to ensure proper operation and the adherence to all applicable laws, codes, and standards. The estimated cost of this work is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This solicitat ion is unrestricted as to business size. The NAICS code for the work is 237990 with a size standard of $31,000,000.00. The sol icitation shall be made available via the Internet on or about 4 December 2007. To download the solicitation, prospective contract ors shall register with and download the solicitation from www.fedteds.gov. Registration instructions are available at this w ebsite. Amendments, if any, will be available at this Internet site. Neither telephonic, mailed, nor faxed requests for solicitatio n documents will be accepted. All responsible concerns may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the New England Di strict.
