Description
VA intends to award an A/E contract for design services at the James H Quillen VAMC, Mt Home (Johnson City), TN, for project 621-08-111, Renovate Canteen in BLDG 200. A/E shall provide all Architectural and Engineering services necessary to design a project to upgrade the existing Canteen Dining Area in BLDG 200 and the Courtyard area of BLDG 77, to a sophisticated dining area and a Courtyard area that provides a pleasurable outdoor dining experience, at the VAMC, Mt Home, TN. The canteen is located in the medical center core of the hospital, drawing high visibility and will need to display an upscale restaurant look making the dining area the go-to place for patients, visitors, and staff to congregate in a less hospital type setting. The courtyard is located in the center core of outpatient clinics and emergency department allowing a break to the outside for a caf?' type setting; covered canopy areas, enclosed beverage area and stone flooring that will present a welcome setting. Work includes some demolition including Courtyard pavers and Canteen tile flooring removal; electrical / plumbing (including sprinkler) modifications; HVAC modifications / balancing, new ceilings, lighting, laminated wood flooring, and all required new finish work. A/E will be required to develop Bid Alternates as necessary to assure award of contract within available funds. A/E firm is required to ensure that the completed designs are in full compliance with all applicable codes and VA design guidelines. This notice is issued subject to availability of funds and is not a request for proposal. Applicable NAICS is 541310, size standard of $4.5 MIL. Estimated cost range for construction is between $250,000 and $500,000. A/E firms that possess experience in this type of design renovation may submit SF 330 (three (3) copies required) to Vicky Caudill, Contracting Officer (90C), VA Medical Center, 800 Zorn Avenue, Louisville, KY 40206-1499. Submissions must identify the solicitation number VA249-08-RP-0008 and must be received not later than January 30, 2008 @ 2:30 PM local time. This is not a request for proposals.
