- Notice of availability of a prospectus on December 5, 2007, for solicitation of proposals for a ten-year concession contract to provide carriage tours along historical carriage roads, horse boarding, equestrian camping, and day-use services for visiting equestrians wishing to access the carriage roads from Wildwood Stables within Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Maine. The required operating season shall be from June 15th through Monday of Columbus Day weekend. All personnel, equipment, stock, and supplies needed to operate shall be provided by the concessioner. Annual gross revenue for 2007 was reported to be $444,303. The minimum franchise fee to be paid to the National Park Service is eight percent of the concessioner's annual gross revenue. The Director, National Park Service, has determined pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51 that no preferred offeror for this contract exists. The solicitation, selection and award of the concession contract will be conducted pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51. The prospectus will explain the business opportunity, the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the concession contract, the proposal instructions and proposal package. The prospectus is available on the National Park Service Concessions website at http://www.concessions.nps.gov/Prospectus.cfm. If you are planning to submit a proposal and have obtained your prospectus from the website, it is recommended that you notify Elizabeth_Weston@nps.gov of your interest so your contact information can be placed on a mailing list to receive future responses to questions or amendments to the prospectus.
