Description
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a purchase order to Hamilton Robotics Ltd, 4970 Energy Way, Reno, Nevada 85902. The authority for this sole source is FAR Part 6.302-1 and FAR Part 13.106-1. A 12 and 14 month maintenance service agreement contract will be issued for the Microlab Star 1886 and the Microlab Star 1945 instruments. The Division of Laboratory Science owns two Hamilton Starlet automated pipetting workstations that require preventative and remedial maintenance and repair services. The service contract is to maintain continuity for ongoing studies (AREDS, NHANES, etc.) for methods that rely on the Hamilton Starlet to aliquot specimens. Star 1945 is used in the Folate LCMSMS assay and Star 1886 is used for Dietary Fatty Acids GCMS, Aflatoxin Lysine adduct LCMSMS and Albumin (colormetric) assay. The contractor agrees to provide maintenance service to keep the covered instrument in good working order throughout the contract period shown on the agreement. Maintenance service includes lubrication, adjustments and replacement parts, all as deemed necessary by the manufacturer. The replacement parts may be new or refurbished and are furnished on an exchange basis. The replaced parts become the property of the contractor. The following contract specifics are required: target response time is 24 hours for a down instrument; guaranteed response time of 48 hours for a down instrument; guaranteed call back time of 4 hours; all labor, parts, and travel costs associated with covered service; provide assistance with instrument trouble shooting and two preventive maintenance visits during the period to keep equipment in good working order; provide software and firmware upgrades at no extra charge, provide consumable parts, warrant that service performed and products conforms to standards of workmanship and pay for all shipping charges for return, repair or replacement of equipment. During the preventative visits, a calibration verification will be performed and a printout of the verification will be given with the invoice.
