Description: Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYS) Charleston intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, with L-3 Communications Corporation, 435 Moreland Road, Hauppauge, NY 11788-3926. This procurement is for the Safety upgrade for AN/USC-60 Satellite System HPA, and Power Cables that are for use in the USC-60. The materials being purchased are part specific for use with AFRC (Air Force Reserve Command) communications systems deployed worldwide. The AN/USC-60 operates in the UHF frequency spectrum and supports LOS (Line of Sight) with frequency agile modes, SATCOM (Satellite Communications), DAMA (Demand Assigned Multiple Access), and Maritime operation. The Handheld LOS Radio, modernization in process has been designed specifically for AFRC requirements. AN/USC-60 provides unprecedented Interoperability with Military Legacy Systems and commercial radios. A Firm Fixed Price type contract estimated at $320,908.00 is planned. The applicable North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 334220 and the size standard is 750 employees. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Any responses relating to this announcement are due by December 6, 2007, NO LATER THAN 1200 Local Time. Reference Note 22 applies.
