- Marine Corps Systems Command is soliciting companies that can provide human factors expertise in the requirements, design, development, analysis, evaluation, trials, and fielding of equipment used by the US Marine rifle squad. The provider must have knowledge of current squad equipment, knowledge of future equipment being developed, and an understanding of soldier system programs. A strong human factors capability and background related to U.S. Marine infantry equipment is critical. Must be capable of travel to Marine Corps bases and installations, other DOD facilities and installations as well as OCONUS travel is required including Iraq and Afghanistan. Offerors must be capable of working, when required, with classified information up to secret level. This requirement covers a five year period of performance. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541690 ? Other Scientific and Technical Consulting Services. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, consumables, equipment, tools, test equipment and transportation necessary to provide the services required. The anticipated contract will be a firm-fixed-price (FFP) service contract. Initial award will be for a period beginning in January 2008. The RFP (M67854-08-R-1050) and any subsequent amendments/information will be provided via electronic means at www.neco.navy.mil or www.fedbizopps.gov . It is anticipated that the RFP will be posted by 15 December 2007. This is not a request for proposals or a guarantee of forthcoming solicitation. It should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the U.S. government to issue a solicitation. Any information provided to the Government in response to this synopsis will become USMC proper ty and will not be returned. All proprietary or classified information will be treated appropriately.
