- Description
- The U.S. Army ARDEC is conducting a market survey to identify potential contractors in technical support of its lethality mission to include the development of advanced armament and energetics technology, disruptive technologies and advanced control of weapons and the manufacturing processes to support the armament and energetics industrial base. The technologies shall include innovative manufacturing processes and highly developed modeling and simulation related to advanced energetic materials including nano-energetics, explosives characterization and analysis, development of energetics processes to support the energetics industrial base during times of emergency, development of advanced threat detection technology including energetics detection, weapons and threat scenario detection for the warfighter and homeland defense technologies, and integration of biometric technologies into defensive systems that include remote controlled systems. The contractor shall have demonstrated proficient knowledge in autonomous vehicle development to include environmental awareness in urban and dynamic or hostile environments. The contractor shall have demonstrated expertise in developing reactive nanostructured materials with a goal of manufacturability, a demonstrated expertise in terahertz 2D imaging evaluating energetic materials, expertise in developing reactive/proactive defensive technologies to prevent catastrophic failure of critical infrastructure, a demonstrated expertise in developing advanced coatings for energetics, a demonstrated expertise in micro-electro- mechanical design for weapon systems, a demonstrated capability to train the workforce, and the ability to work closely on a daily basis with the technical staff at Picatinny Arsenal as well as conduct classified research and development. The manufacturing technologies shall include activities addressing models that predict life-cycle manufacturing design applications and employment, advanced manufacturing processes for novel materials such as carbon nanotubes; processes and methods for boron diffusion using nanostructured powders, innovative coatings for use on unstable materials; and threat identification and response. Interested firms who feel that they are capable of producing this support are invited to indicate their interest by providing whitepapers.
