- Description
- 1. The Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC) is soliciting information to identify possible sources to provide a standardized set of technical recovery system kits, specifically confined space and extrication kits. The GA forces are tasked to extricate personnel and sensitive material from military aircraft, vehicle wreckages and damaged or destroyed buildings. The equipment utilized to accomplish this mission is contained in Rapid Extrication Deployment System (REDS) Kits and Confined Space (CS) kits. There are two types of REDS kits -- heavy and light. Specifics for these kits are shown in paragraph 3 below. The procurement would include the modernization of the existing Combo tool or the substitution of a more capable Combo tool and a more capable air supply for lift bags. Reduction of the overall weight of the REDS kits is also a major focus of this procurement. THIS MODIFICATION EXTENDS THE PERIOD FOR RFI RESPONSES TO 28 NOVEMBER 2007. This Request for Information (RFI) is issued for informational purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or commit the government to award a contract now or in the future. Submitting information for this RFI is voluntary and participants will not be compensated.
