Description

The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, with Philips Medical System, Medical Field Support Center, Andover, MA 01810 for software maintenance and support of the CareVue medical system used in the Critical Care department and the CompuRecord EZ system used in the Surgery/Anesthesia Service department of VAPHS, for one year in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Philips Medical System has exclusive rights to this software and is therefore the only vendor who can perform this contract. The software and processing logic are proprietary products and intellectual property protected under Federal copyright laws. Philips Medical System is the sole supplier and sole authorized provider of support for these systems. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their capabilities, accompanied by supporting information, to the Contracting Officer, no later than 9:00 AM on Monday, November 26,2007. Responses should be sent to pamela.rayburg@va.gov or faxed to Pamela Rayburg at 412-365-5444. No telephone responses will be accepted. Information received will be evaluated for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the VAPHS Contracting Officer
