- The work to be accomplished under this contract consists of the construction of a paved multi-purpose trail and two plaza areas along the South Branch of the Park River from Flatbush Avenue to Brookfield Street opposite Nilan Street in Hartford. The proposed paved trail will be 1690 ft. in length and 12-ft wide and will have woodchips on the shoulders. The bituminous concrete pavement for the trail will be 3 inches thick and the subgrade base materials will be a minimum of 12 inches thick. The maximum slope of the trail is 5%. The two plazas, at either end of the trail, will be constructed of paving blocks. Approximate quantities of the larger bid items on this job include: 1690 FT of Trail Construction including clearing and grubbing, excavation, geotextile, subgrade materials, bituminous concrete, earthfill and woodchip shoulders; 350 FT of perforated pipe and stone Drain and 34 FT of Drain Pipe; 915 SF of Paving Blocks; 1690 FT of chain link Fence Removal; 1.0 Ac. of Seeding; 70 Trees and Shrubs; 6 Signs; and 6 Bollards. Price range is between $100,000 and $250,000. An organized site visit is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on December 11, 2007 at the job site. The participants will meet along Brookfield Street, North of the Bus stop at the intersection of Brookfield Street and Flatbush Avenue, Hartford, Connecticut.
