- Description
- Herron Stewardship Project for the Colville National Forest. This project involves timber removal, thinning, whip falling, road reconstructing and maintenance, slash treatment and noxious weed treatment. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies to perform specified. Restoration objectives and requirements for the project area are: to reduce the threat of severe wildfire within the Herron Creek areas using a combination of mechanical and hand thinning methods; utilize timber resources; provide wood resource to forest product industry; improve road management; and, provide re-construction and maintenance to meet project area transportation plan and resource needs. To accomplish these objectives, the contract includes the following components: 1,666 (866 MBF) sawlogs and optional material of un-estimated non-saw to be removed. Primary species are Douglas-Fir/Western Larch and Ponderosa Pine. Hand thinning of pre-commercial sized trees approximately 95 acres. Road reconstruction and maintenance of approximately 5.4 miles total. Contractor will be responsible for paying for a road use permit thru private land to access two units. Project is located in Township 37 North, Range 33 East, Sections 11, 12, 13 and 14, Republic Ranger, District of the Colville National Forest. Work can begin in late 2007 based on contractors approved schedule. A pre-proposal conference and site visit will be scheduled. Details of the pre-proposal conference and site visit will be provided in Section L of the solicitation. The project is a total small business set-aside. NAICS code is 113310 with small business size of 500 or fewer employees. Joint ventures, partnerships and or subcontracting are encouraged. The construction magnitude for the construction portion of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. An electronic copy of the solicitation will be issued posted at this site on November 21, 2007.
