Description
The U.S. Government is interested in obtaining capability, delivery lead times, and cost estimate information for the purpose of conducting future planning for a potential requirement for 40MM High Explosive Incendiary (HEI), PGU-9C/B, Cartridge, NSN 1310-01-413-7798. The total estimated requirement is for 700K Cartridges, with deliveries beginning in CY10 and concluding in CY14. The cartridge consists of a FMU-154 A/B Fuze, HEI Projectile, L/60 Brass Cartridge Case, and Brass Primer/Flash Tube. A n uncertified Technical Data Package (TDP) is available for distribution. The TDP distribution is limited to US DoD contractors, and export is restricted by the Arms Export Control Act, (Title 22, U.S.C., Sec 2751 et seq.) or the Export Administration Act of 1979, as amended, Titled 50, U.S.C. App 2401, et seq. Violations of these export laws are subject to severe criminal penalties. It is requested that interested sources provide information on their capabilities, estimated production lead times, includ ing start up timeframes, and estimated unit costs, including related start up costs for the following scenarios: 1) All new production of 40mm HEI with no Government Furnished Material (GFM) provided; and 2) Refurbishment of the existing inventory from A rmor Piercing (AP) to HEI (GFM of 40mm AP inventory for demil/refurb to reclaim only the cartridge cases (approximately 300K reclaimable), with remaining requirement of approximately 400K as new production with no GFM. This request for information is sole ly for planning purposes and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract based on this request for information or otherwise pay for information soli cited. All information provided will only be utilized by the Government in planning for potential future requirements.
