Description
The Government is seeking sources for a Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS)/Non-Developmental Item (NDI) Weapon Boresight Device (WBD) for the Advanced Sniper Accessory Kit (ASAK). Sniper weapons supported will include the M24 Sniper Weapon System (SWS), M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System (SASS), and the M107 Long Range Sniper Rifle (LRSR). The M24 and M110 are 7.62mm caliber weapons. The M107 is a .50 caliber weapon. The WBD will be a single device to establish and maintain weapon-to-day optic zero during combat operation for the above suite of weapons and their associate day optics. The WBD will be a collimator design that does not require additional targets. The collimator mandrel/s will not require rotation to align and will not put pressure on the barrel during insertion, i.e., it will be an expanding mandrel/suite of mandrels. The mandrel material and design will not cause damage to the bore, crown or barrel of the weapons. The WBD will include a reticle/aiming grid to return the day optic to zero by prior recorded data on each weapon system. The WBD will provide +/- 1 minute of angle (MOA) accuracy and repeatability. The bore sight aiming grid will be self-illuminating for l ow-light conditions. WBD battery life will be greater than thirty (30) minutes continuous if batteries are used. If batteries are necessary, the batteries will be Army-common. The WBD will weigh less than six (6) pounds with carrying case. The WBD will possess sufficient ruggedness for military use and will operate in hot, basic and cold climatic zones, i.e., from -46?C to +49 ?C. The WBD will include a manual or instructions for operator use and operator-level maintenance. It is the Governments intent to procure and accept delivery of approximately 3,000 WBDs in FY08 and FY09. Interested offerors should submit a white paper in reference to the information annotated above and addressing product specifications and unit cost, and any price breaks at quantity, in hard copy no later than 3 December 2007 to: Ms. McCoy Klink, telephon e (703) 704-0035, fax (703) 704-3449, email mccoy.klink@us.army.mil, 10170 Beach Road, Bldg. 325, Ft Belvoir, VA 22060-5820.
