Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, intends to solicit for purchase of 100 each, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Board, Serial Input/Output (I/O), RS-232, in accordance with Drawing No. 62828-90089-1, NSN: 5998-01-368-8652, ASN: S100-1A2A6-1. The item is being purchased for the National Weather Service, to be delivered to the National Logistics Support Center, Kansas City, MO. This item supports the National Weather Service (NWS) Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) spare parts program. General Description: The CCA shall be a double high (6U) high VME (Versa Module Europe) bus board with a double high front panel. The CCA shall be a quad serial I/O board which provides a VME system with four serial communication channels. The serial I/O board shall route its I/O through the VME bus P2 connector and is double high. It shall also provide four RS-232C serial ports and each board shall contain two 8530 Serial Communication Controller (SCC) chips, designated SCC#1 and SCC#2. The two SCC serial chips shall provide a variety of communication modes, including asynchronous, byte-synchronous, and bit-oriented protocols. The intended procurement is for supplies for which the government intends to acquire under the guidelines of FAR Part 12, Commercial Items. Any small business sources are encouraged to respond to this announcement within calendar 10 days after its publication. Interested firms can request a copy of the complete Request for Quotation package on or about November 18, 2007. Potential offerors are encouraged to periodically return to this site to obtain a copy of the RFQ. A copy of the RFQ that will be issued on or about November 18, 20007 will be uploaded and available at this site. The RFQ package can also be requested by email to karen.l.christian@noaa.gov or send a fax request with an email address to telephone number 816-274-6952, ATTN: Karen Christian. Failure to provide the required information may deem your request non-responsive. The government reserves the right to solicit quotes based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice. The NAICS code for this action is 335999. This requirement shall be considered a 100% small business set-aside. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered by the Agency. All contractors doing business with the Central Region Acquisition Division (CRAD) must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) or certification with the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA).
