- The National Endowment for the Arts intends to issue a sole source firm fixed price purchase order, using combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in the attachment to Fletcher Design, Inc who owns proprietary rights to the design, style and layout of all The Big Read materials for the American novels and services compatible with an integral component of the existing publication. The National Endowment for the Arts requires continuing with The Big Read Initiative designed to restore reading to the center of American culture across the country to encourage reading for pleasure and enlightenment for the next phase The Big Read, poetry-literary landmarks necessary to support this program which is covered by exclusive rights. The National Endowment for the Arts principal objective is to acquire the same proprietary design, layout, and printing necessary for the success of the publications for two American poets ? Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and Robinson Jeffers as part of The Big Read Initiative poetry-literary landmarks Reader?s Guides, Teacher?s Guides, Posters, and Bookplates to expand to include more communities and additional books. Fletcher Design, Inc. has the creative, critical knowledge of the operations, historical background, experience, and past performance criticality to successfully complete The Big Read, American poets. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes or proposals. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. A determination by the Federal Government not to compete with this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Federal Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
