- NOTE: Special Notice DON-SNOTE-071031-001 posted 10-31-2007 incorrectly noted future solicitation number in the body of notice . Number is corrected and special notice re posted below in its entirety: The Department of the Navy, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center San Diego (SPAWARSYSCEN SAN DIEGO) intends to negotiate a sole source contract modification with ARINC Engineering Services (ARINC) and Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) under the existing Multiple Award Contracts, N66001-03-D-0036 and N66001-03-D-0037. This action will provide for a level of effort increase in the combined ceiling under the multiple award contracts and extend the period of performance seven months through 31 DEC 2008. The estimated increase in the level of effort is 73,120 hours. This action will be issued as a sole source modification under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The use of any other source for this modification would result in a duplication of costs and time to develop the technical capability within another contractor???s workforce that is not expected to be recovered through competition. It should be noted that competitive solicitation #N66001-08-R-0046 is expected to be released some time in 1st quarter 2008. It will be announced in the FedBizOps as well as being posted on https://e-commerce.spawar.navy.mil.
