- With this announcement, the Chicago District Corps of Engineers issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for its LITTLE CALUMET RIVER, HAMMOND INDIANA project. The Contractor will be required to provide all necessary facilities, plants, labor, transportatio n, materials, and equipment to improve and construct five sanitary sewer and lift stations at the following locations: 1) South side of Deep River at Montgomery Street; 2) North side of Deep River at Montgomery Street; 3) Central Avenue at Allen Street; 4 ) 23rd Avenue at De Kalb Street; and 5) South of 15th Avenue and east of De Kalb Street. Improvements will include the installation of 340 lineal feet of 12 inch HDPE directionally drilled river crossing; 1,310 lineal feet of 12 inch HDPE directional dril led force main; one duplex submersible lift station; modifications to two duplex submersible lift stations; telemetry controls; electrical services. Additionally, four flow meters with vaults and several valve vaults will be included. The estimated cost for construction is between $500,000.00 and $1.0 Million. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System (NAICS) 237990, with a business size in dollars of $31 Million. COMPETITION IS UNRESTRICTED TO BUSINESS SIZE. The solicitation will be available on the Internet on or before 03 De cember 2007. The due date for bids will be on or about 08 January 2008, at 2:00 PM Chicago Local Time. In order for contractors to conduct business with the Department of Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the Central Contra ctor Registration (CCR).
