- ITEC4 will award a sole source contract to maintain an essential research capability which will be provided by John Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. The contract is a follow-on to current contract due to expire on 31 December 2007. T he period of performance for this contract is 1 January 2008-31 December 2013. The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL), a University Affiliated Research Center (UARC), will provide trusted agent and systems engineering support to the Product Manager, MC4 in the definition of operational concepts, identification of systems requirements, identification and tracking of dependencies on other systems/subsystems, and acquisitions of the MC4 System, to include any contingency requiremen ts. Additionally, JHU/APL will maintain an MC4 Systems Laboratory to support independent testing and evaluation of MC4 Government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) and Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software, design prototype and/or proof-of-concept software or hardw are for potential expansion of new capabilities and conduct risk reduction activities throughout the acquisition and fielding of the MC4 System.
